As part of our commitment to a sustainable world and well aware of how our decisions can impact the climate, the society we live in and ultimately our well being, Sustonable has recently joined the 1% for the Planet. We want to protect the Earth and the resources we take from it by giving back part of our sales.
We’re proud to give 1% of our annual revenue back to environmental non-profits working on today’s most pressing climate issues.
1% for the Planet
1% for the Planet is a global organisation that ensures our Planet and future generations thrive. They inspire businesses and individuals to support environmental non-profits through membership and everyday actions. They make environmental giving easy and effective through partnership advising, impact storytelling and third-party certification.
Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, their business members and individual members, have given hundreds of millions of dollars to their approved non-profit partners to date. Today, 1% for the Planet’s global network consists of thousands of businesses, individuals and environmental non-profits working toward a better future.
How does it work?
Business members join 1% for the Planet network, committing to donate the equivalent of 1% of gross sales through a combination of monetary, in-kind and approved promotional support directly to environmental non-profits.
All together, for our Planet
Since 1% started, they have certified more than $350million in support of approved environmental non-profits. The Organisation drives vital philanthropic support to tackle our time’s most urgent environmental problems. With 5.000 business members, 1% network demonstrates the power of collective action as the Organisation brings together 1.200 individuals, 5.000 businesses, and 5.000 non-profit ORGs worldwide to support people and the Planet. When we all work together, 1% really counts.
We are thrilled to keep growing on the sustainability path and encourage others to join us in enhancing our Planet’s health.
